A Week in San Francisco: Dia Siete

So it has already been two months since this spectacular visit and as I write this post I'm starting to feel nostalgia set in.  It's so weird because growing up I always thought I would be a Californian, even when I went away to college some 4,000 miles away from home, it never crossed my mind while I was enjoying the mecca that is Howard University and the entire DC area, that this place would one day be home, at least for my kids anyway.  For me, home will always be the Bay, I'll always have SF in my heart no matter where I am in the world.

So as I near the end of my trip, let's take a look at one of my fave spots to nosh ever since I was a little girl of 10 years old, yes this place has roots!!

La Taqueria has the BEST burritos in the Mission & trust me, I've tried many places!!

The Mission!
After grabbing our burritos we headed around the corner to Dolores Park, it was such a beautiful day, and the park is the best place to lay out with a juicy burrito and chill!

The gorgeous Dolores Park! Check out that view!! Boss
Life!

Enjoying that darn burrito!!

Love how the flowers blend with my dress!!
Sunnies: Giorgio Armani
Later on that night, we decided to capitalize on having the grandparents near and leave them on babysitting duty while the hubby and I stepped out for drinks and dancing!!  Where you may ask?  Why the Mission of course!! The Mission is not only great for family day fun in the sun, but awesome for the grown and sexy too!!

And just in case you catch the munchies after partying the night away, the Mission has you covered no matter what time it is!!

You got the mamis on the street grill hookin' it up!!! Viva La Mision!!:)

Oh Snap, Apple Cider Vinegar!!

Recently I have been doing alot of research on healthy ways to eat and take care of my skin and hair without breaking the bank.  So anytime I come across natural remedies that can easily be whooped up in my kitchen with very little ingredient purchases, I'm all over it!  Here is a list of the great things  apple cider vinegar can do, from curing everything from the common cold to acne!! Gotta love that!!

I recommend an organic Apple Cider Vinegar that can be found at any local Whole Foods.

Here are a couple of added benefits for using ACV that have worked for me:

Weight Loss

Take 1 to 2 tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar with a glass of water before a meal and it will help control appetite, therefore reducing the amount of food consumed.  There is a fiber in vinegar called pectin and mixed with water it expands in your stomach decreasing the appetite.

Skin/Hair Care

Mix equal parts Apple Cider Vinegar to pure calcium or sodium Bentonite Clay and Aloe Vera Juice (optional and not necessary for the clay mask for skin) and then apply mixture to hair or skin or both and allow it to sit for 15-25 minutes (do not allow it to dry on hair, but can dry on face like a mask).

This wonderful concoction will draw all toxins from skin and hair and will add manageability and shine to the hair.  For skin this will tighten, tone and reduce acne and large pores!  For more information and a photo tutorial on this treatment for your hair, visit All Things O' Natural.

Perfect Summer Night

I couldn't ask for a more perfect date day and night with my hubby! We decided to head over to our fave area in DC-Adam's Morgan (I know where else!!?) and take a few fashion shots before grabbing some cool down libations at Busboys & Poets, our new drink fave is called DC Tapwater!!  The drink itself does look fresh out of the sewer, so not very appealing to the eye, but it's sweet and delish!! We then headed over to Marvin's to meet up with some friends for some good ol' down home fried chicken and waffles and of course more drinks!! Oh yes, it was a great night!

A Week In Frisco: Dia Seis

This day started off very shaky, because my youngest baby, Caleb was feeling terrible and actually on day 2 of vomiting and projectile poopies (I know not pretty) so after a looong night we decided to take him to the ER to figure out what was going on.  As it turned out, he was fine, a little stomach bug and he started feeling much better by the time we left, so we decided to keep with our plans and head over to Golden Gate Park for a beautiful day in the sun!!  My early morning trip to the ER is also the reason why I'm sporting the same outfit, well except for the jeans, from the previous day in Santa Cruz-oooh the joys of mommyhood complete with ER visits,  recycled outfits and all!!

There's my little guy!! Feeling much better, barefoot and comfy in the park!!

Nice blanket and snacks was all we needed!!

And of course great friends!!
Golden Gate Park with all of its gorgeous, lush greenery, pretty corners and hidden trails is really just a cool spot where locals laze around on their comfy blankets, nosh on fave snacks and enjoy the good company of friends while listening to local artists drum up beats!

The park was poppin!!
And so were the local artists!!

video

My three year old, Cairo, couldn't resist jumping in on a drum session as you can see in this video!! He loved it! SN: sorry the video is sideways most of the time, my hubby won't be winning any videographer awards anytime soon!! Lol

My rockstar little bro!!
The concrete slides that GGP is so known for! Was my fave part of the park as a girl!!
Now it's Cairo's fave!! This was probably the 15th time we went down!!

Finding a place where families can play with their kids on the fantastic playground, couples can lay in the sun, friends can get in a good game of frisbee, and artists can play their fave tunes and everyone is comfortably happy is not easy, but Golden Gate Park is that place.

Me, my baby's ear and my hubby in the background!!:)

There’s a little bit of something for everyone in this gigantic park that is actually 20% larger than New York City's Central Park, hmm who would've thought?  I love GGP, it's amazing and will always be one of San Francisco’s main attractions.
