A Week In Frisco: Dia Dos

So I'm back with day two of my amazing visit to SF and this was such a great day!! We spent the day at Pier 39, grandma (my mom) treated us to a day at the aquarium, which the boys absolutely loved and then we grabbed some yummy seafood!! When in Rome, right? Lol

The aquarium had this awesome moving walkway that went through the entire tank, so all around us there were fish and coral reefs in beautiful bursts of color!! There were baby sharks, starfish, jellyfish, it was amazing!!

Yes that's a bee hive!! Bees are my greatest fear, although you wouldn't be able to tell from the big cheese on my face!!

It was definitely time to eat after playing with all the fishy!!

We wrapped up this fantastic day with a little seal watching, the boys had this "wow seals do exist" look on their faces, it was hilarious!!! We all had a great day and the boys were ready for some sleep!! Just how I like it!!

I just got word about this really awesome fashion swap happening right here in Washington, DC and I want to spread the fashion love to all of my local beauties!!  The Tangerine Tango  Swap is being hosted by Dewdrop DC and I am really excited about this event as it will be my first official clothing swap and this swap is also benefiting a great cause.  Any remaining clothing will be donated to the Goodwill!  This is a great opportunity to snag some signature pieces and complete that summer wardrobe on a dime!! --Dewdrop Hosts a Tangerine Tango Swap--

WASHINGTON, DC, June 21, 2012--Fashionistas can grab a stylish wardrobe without spending big bucks and while supporting a good cause. Dewdrop will host a Tangerine Tango Swap on Saturday, June 30, 2012, from 1-4:00 pm, at Vapiano (4900 Hampden Lane in Bethesda, MD). Vapiano is conveniently located a block and a half from the Bethesda Metro on the Red Line.

Fashionistas are challenged to score a perfect 10 at the Tangerine Tango Swap by bringing unwanted yet stylish items to the swap in exchange for items from other fashionistas. Bring five items or more of like-new or vintage clothing, shoes and accessories. Then, fill up a bag with as many items as you brought in. The honor code applies—we will not have a voucher system to check how many items you take. All sizes are welcome and encouraged. In light of the hot color-blocking trend, and tangerine tango as the “it” color, summer season items are only accepted, and items are not limited to only this color.

To avoid long lines and to maximize time to inspect for quality, there will be a drop-off time of 1:00 to 2:30 pm. Vapiano is located in Bethesda Row where there are many shops and cafes to peruse before the doors to the swap open at 2:30 pm. Fashionistas can swap until 4:00 pm, when the doors to the swap close. Tables and clothing racks will be sorted and labeled by type of clothing and size, from extra small to plus size.

Not only can fashionistas look fabulous in their new wardrobe, but they can feel good knowing that any clothing remaining from the swap will be donated to Goodwill. Goodwill’s mission is to help people earn a living, improve their lives, and strengthen their families and their communities.

Register early—Dewdrop will give away swag bags to the first 50 registrants online. Tickets are $10 if purchased in advance and $15 at the door with at least five items at both price points. Tickets are available at http://dewdrop.eventbrite.com.

To add to the fun, there will also be raffle prizes donated by local Bethesda retailers as well as a red carpet photo-op, where fashionistas can strike a pose and don their swap finds.

Summer Design Ideas

I think with almost every change of season, I get the "redecorate, add more color, take away color, rearrange furniture, add a new pillow, new kitcheware..." itch!  It's something about summer however that just gets me in the mood to add color and prints and art and just go crazy!!  Unless you're extremely wealthy, redesigning and decorating every season can just be too costly though.  So I recently began pinning (yes I'm a Pinterest addict!!) homes and rooms that look fabulous and can be done with very little cash flow, but a lot of imagination and DIY tricks!! Pay close attention, while these rooms may look expensive, these designs can all be achieved with simple home decor techniques like a new splash of paint, bright bold pillows, colorful kitchenware, wall art or awesomely blown up family photos or maybe a little mix of everything! A Week In Frisco: Dia Uno

Hey Beauties!!! I've missed you gals a ton! I'm back from Cali and I had a blast!  We packed sooo much into one trip, that I am completely exhausted but it was all well worth it!!  My family was amazing and they loved on the boys the whole time!  It's funny because everytime I go back home, I always ask myself what am I doing all the way on the east coast??  Who knows maybe there will be a relocation in the near future, because my boys loved having so much family around!  In the meantime, I want to share my entire trip with you-fashion, sightseeing and all! In order to do that, I will have a series of posts that will take you day by day into "A Week in Frisco."

Check out this awesome shot of the Golden Gate Bridge!!  The weather was unusually and amazingly gorgeous!! It never fell below 65 and got up to 82 most days!! Anyone that is familiar with SF knows that is seriously unusual in June!  We decided to spend our first day at Crissy Fields by the water!

My little one loves the sand!!!  Sand is so unbelievably hard to get out of curly hair!! Lol

Was sooo glad I brought my flats!! Happy girl!!

From there we decided to hit up Koit Tower!  My hubby was dying to see the gorgeous views from there and my dad, who has spent his entire life in the city confessed to me that he has never been!! Well you know I had to take them!!

Statement Piece

There are many days where I wake up and just don't have the extra time to dedicate to pure fashionista-ism (yes, I just successfully made up a word)!!  Everyday can't be a high fashion day, at least not for me, chasing two toddlers around and trying to keep an organized house-no way jose:).  But the last thing I want to become is that frumpy mommy who just doesn't have a lick of time to give to my appearance.  One of my worse nightmares is waking up (in the non-literal sense) in an off color pair of Crocs, ill fitting khakis and an equally ill fitting, randomly stained tee shirt-yes a very vivid nightmare, I know!!  So this post is dedicated to the busy beauty on the go, that wants to be comfy but still exude cute, girly, fashion.

Dressing quick and comfy on the go, throw in what's called a statement piece!  These are my absolute fave jeans, every girl has a pair that no matter how much weight you gain or lose, they just fit Perfectly somehow, it's like freakin' magic!!  Well these are my magical jeans, a cute but basic stripey tank and some flip flops! But when you toss this gorge, vintage, braided necklace into the mix, it goes from cute to "hey, I love your look."  Not my words, a compliment I got that day yay!

Then I grabbed my purple tote that holds all of my serious non-essentials, that feel essential when I'm packing the bag to the brim and my kids goodies and felt totally comfy but stand out cute!

Being a huge thrift, vintage and antique gal, I scour these stores for pieces like this necklace that will stand out and turn any outfit totally and completely out!!
